My use of in-camera double exposures and beyond

I began my visual artist journey in college as an art major with concentration in drawing and painting. My extensive art history studies gave me a comprehensive overview of the art world and it’s glorious progression. I started my photography studio in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I focused on commercial work in advertising, architecture, editorial, fashion and stock. My assignments took me all over the world and taught me a wealth of knowledge along the way. I retired from the commercial focus about 2 years ago. I now have come full circle and am applying techniques as hybrid forms of visually exploring the world and emotions.

I started doing in camera digital double exposures about 2 years ago for the first time. This technique allows me to take two images at the same place and relative same time to create composites that take us on a more exciting journey into the work. The other version of this technique allows me to add backgrounds to my sky areas and other layer perceptions. My work in this area has evolved into a universal spiritualism based heavy in our natural eco system and life cycles. The pandemic has forced us to stay in quarantine for over a year and in a way made for a very intense and exciting journey into our spirit and the similarities of natures life cycle with those of we humans. I like to stimulate the imagination of my viewers and let their journey lead off from the visual path I am on to theirs.
